5 gallon Betta tank, a ton of live plants, basic gravel my daughter picked out, and a piece of mopani wood. If it was up to me, I would’ve used a different substrate, but that’s what I’m working with. I finally have all my numbers perfect after two months, and now the pH is low. I just figuredout it’s because of that wood thank you.

8/28/2024....Marineland is still making their BIG aquariums, 180 gallon and larger. They never quit making them, so, somewhere you got some false information about them discontinuing making them. My Marineland 180 gallon has been up and running for 7 yrs now with zero issues.

Co-op sponge filters are garbage. I had a sponge filter rated for a 90 gallon tank in a 40 breeder and the flow was so low it literally had poop and other stuff laying on the substrate a inch from it. Bought a 70 gallon hang on back and the flow is great, moves the poop and junk along the bottom till its sucked up. Cleanest substrate ever. Its amazing how foolish people are and fall for Cory's con artist selling tactics.

I have a 10gal, and my ph was fine this morning then decreased to 5.0, my tank has 2 different types of live plants. Fake decor for hides and spider wood. When you mentioned wood dropping the ph then I figured out my problem but I don’t have the stuff to increase my ph plus I have super hard water (betta fish tank)

5 years later, and the FX4 is selling for $399

My one and only betta fish is missing. I looked every where but I can’t find. It just vanished !

Yesterday it was at 8.0 I was so happy. I read salt water fish need a ph of 8.3 . Today it’s at 7.4 (or lower) :( I’m agitating the surface of the water , no fish yet , working on the Nitrate cycle . Maybe it was higher because my window was open for like an hour ? But I can’t have my window open because my husband complains about the AC :P also my substrate is the pink sand from Caribsea . (Not sure if that matters) . I used RO water to start the tank which I bought in gallons .

I know this is an old video, but I got two blue shrimps from Aqua hut and I was getting one, but then the guy gave me one for free and then gave it to me cheaper instead of how much it was so I’m kind of happy about that

I have had the same driftwood for years in my tank but I added a substrate for my plants which lowers the ph. I added fluid to raise it in the correct proportions for my 120 l tank but it isnt raising

I've got 5 Firemouths and the largest female constantly fights with the others. She tore her mouth similar to this, but kept on digging in the substrate for food. Her mouth eventually healed, but a small stone got stuck in her lip and healed over. She now has a permanent fat lip. Never stopped fighting with others even when her mouth was ripped.

I didn't remove the gravel just put wet sand on top with a net slowly but still cloudy

yeah well some of us can't afford the medicine that he is showing or any of the dropsy cure available on the internet. So in a way it becomes a sad case of helplessness to even try curing it. What a fate for me.

I got a missing fish too

I’m currently using this. Can you only use it once a week or can you use it daily? I used it once this morning. When can I use it again if it’s not gone because my tank is still a bit cloudy and I used it this morning.

I had one from baby (managed to jump through the holes in a light diffusor) to adult. It was fine with other tank mates until it reached adult. Easily a foot long. It decided that noone else was welcome in the tank anymore. Made it his mission to destroy or attempt to destroy decorations in the tank and my bichir became a target soon after. Had to get rid of him.

in my big tank i got 3 silver dollars i have a mono peacock bass, i have 3 oscars, i have a jack dempsy,, i have 3 clown loaches and a big sailfin pleco, i really want a gold severum and some sort of geophagus and hopefully a red terror, im also growing out a jaguar chiclid for it. another tank i got bunch of guppys and diff tetras and breeding bristlnose, another one i have electric blue acaras and red zebra chiclids.

I have a 20 gallon aquarium with Corey catfish, African dwarf frogs, guppies, Danios, mollies and tetras. After a water change my pH is 6.4 or maybe even lower. It's not really matching anything on the strip bottle. I don't have live plants and there is no ammonia , nitrates or nitrites present. I bought tetras correct pH tablets and was wondering if that would be safe to use. It says to use one tablet for every 10 gallons .
